Using Auto Pay

You can easily set up Auto Pay as described here using My Account or by using the My Alltel App on the wireless phone. Or, you can do the same thing by calling 1-800-ALLTEL1.

To set up automatic payments using My Account:

  1. Log in to My Account.
  2. Select Payments on the top navigation bar.
  3. Select Payment Wallet on the top navigation bar.
  4. Select Add Bank Account or Add Credit Card. 
  5. Provide the requested account information.
    Note:  If you choose to pay by bank account, you will be asked to provide your bank routing number. This number can be found on your check in the bottom left corner. This unique number identifies which bank your account is with.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Select the Auto Pay tab on the top navigation bar.
  8. Click your account number.
    The Autodraft window appears.
  9. Enter the desired draft date (that you want to pay your bill each month). Ensure that the draft date is at least 5 days after your bill cycle date. This will help prevent service interruption or potential late fees.
  10. Click Save.


Auto Pay activation
Activation of Auto Pay depends on when the information is added to the billing system. It typically takes one billing cycle for Auto Pay to start processing.

After enrolling in Auto Pay via My Account, you will receive a confirmation text message (SMS). When Auto Pay takes effect, the first page of your bill displays one of the following messages:

  • Auto Pay with Credit Card:
    Your credit card will be charged on date for dollar amount.
  • Auto Pay with Bank Draft:
    Your bank account will be drafted on date for dollar amount.


Changing Auto Pay details
You can easily make changes to your Auto Pay settings as described here using My Account. Or, you can do the same thing by calling 1-800-ALLTEL1.

  1. Log in to My Account.
  2. Select Payments on the top navigation bar.
  3. Select Auto Pay on the top navigation bar.
  4. Click your account number.
  5. Make your changes.
    Note:  Automatic draft details can be modified by clicking on the account number in the Auto Pay Summary section.
  6. Click Save when you’re finished.
    Or, to delete Auto Pay entirely for this account, click Delete.

Note: If you change your prepaid plan, you will need to reset your Auto Pay. For Example: If you have pay-per-day and switch to pay-per-month, you will need to set up a new Auto Pay.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. Q:  Can I cancel scheduled payments?
    A:  Scheduled payments can be cancelled until the due date. Once the scheduled payment has been completed, it can no longer be cancelled.
     
  2. Q:  How do I temporarily suspend the current automatic draft for a specific account?
    A:  In the Auto Pay summary, select the account for which you want to suspend the current automatic draft then check the box next to the Suspend Auto Pay option.
     
  3. Q:  How do I stop using Auto Pay completely for a specific account?
    A:  Automatic draft details can be deleted by clicking on the trashcan icon in the Auto Pay Summary section.
